After-Disaster Construction

A disaster is hard enough. The rebuild should not be.

A fire, a burst pipe, a flooded basement. In a single day, your home changes and your life fills up with adjusters, forms, phone calls and decisions you never planned to make. Most homeowners tell us the hardest part was not the damage. It was not knowing who to trust with what came next.

Kasa General Contractor rebuilds homes after disasters across Greater Montreal, and we become your single point of contact for the entire reconstruction: the insurance scope, the municipal permits, the certified trades and the schedule.

Our mission has always been to help homeowners rebuild with confidence, restoring their spaces and their peace of mind through honest communication, expert craftsmanship and dependable service. Nowhere does that matter more than after a disaster.

With 40 years of family building heritage, 12 years as licensed general contractors and more than 500 completed projects, we know exactly what a proper rebuild requires. And we keep you informed at every critical step, in English, French or Spanish.

What We Rebuild

After-disaster construction services in Montreal

From the first assessment to the final coat of paint, our crews handle every stage of the physical reconstruction, with certified specialists brought in wherever regulations require them.

Structural stripping

Damaged finishes, partitions and materials are removed down to the sound structure, so the rebuild starts from a healthy base. For demolition and stripping work, our subsidiary Kasa Démolition handles the job with the same family standards, which means one coordinated schedule from tear-out to reconstruction.

Debris removal

Burned, soaked or damaged materials are sorted, hauled away and disposed of legally. The site is cleaned and secured so your insurer can inspect it and reconstruction can start without delay.

Fire and smoke reconstruction

After a fire, we rebuild affected structure, framing, insulation, electrical, plumbing and finishes according to the approved insurance scope and current building code. The result is not a patched house, it is a rebuilt home.

Water damage restoration

Flooded basements, burst pipes, roof leaks: once the space is dried out, we replace compromised materials, rebuild the affected rooms and restore finishes, with moisture-resistant assemblies where they make sense.

When asbestos or mould is discovered, decontamination is coordinated with certified specialized firms and integrated into the schedule. We never perform decontamination ourselves; our crews resume work once the area is cleared.

Insurance Coordination

We speak insurance, so you do not have to

The claim process is where most post-disaster projects go wrong: scopes that miss hidden damage, estimates the insurer rejects, work that starts before it is authorized. We have been through this process with homeowners across Greater Montreal, and we manage it deliberately.

  • Damage documented and a detailed reconstruction scope prepared in the format your insurer expects.
  • Direct communication with your adjuster throughout the claim, so nothing stalls in translation.
  • Work sequenced with authorizations, permits and decontamination clearances to avoid costly restarts.
  • A rebuild delivered to code by an RBQ-licensed contractor, with a 1-year labour warranty and the RBQ guarantee plan behind it.

What sets us apart

Trust matters most when everything else is uncertain

After a disaster, you are vulnerable to rushed decisions and unlicensed operators. Here is what protects you when you rebuild with Kasa General Contractor.

01

RBQ-licensed, APCHQ, insured $5,000,000

License RBQ 5797-3208-01 with its mandatory bond, APCHQ membership and full liability coverage. Your insurer recognizes it, and it protects you if anything goes wrong.

02

One contact for everything

Insurer, city, engineers, decontamination firms, trades: we coordinate them all. You make the decisions; we handle the phone calls, the paperwork and the follow-ups.

03

Honest scope, honest schedule

We tell you what the rebuild really requires and how long it really takes, before work begins. No surprises has been the family rule for 40 years.

04

Rebuilt to today’s standards

A disaster is a terrible way to renovate, but a rebuild done right leaves your home safer and more comfortable than before, with current code, materials and warranties.

How It Works

The after-disaster reconstruction process

Five stages, communicated clearly, so you always know where your home stands and what happens next.

01

Emergency assessment and documentation

We visit the property, assess the damage and document everything your claim will need. You get an honest picture of the scope before any commitments are made.

02

Insurance scope and authorizations

We prepare the detailed reconstruction scope, work with your adjuster on approvals and file the municipal permit applications. Nothing starts before it is authorized.

03

Stripping, debris removal and clearances

Damaged materials are stripped to the sound structure and hauled away. If contaminants are found, certified decontamination firms are coordinated before anyone continues.

04

Reconstruction

Structure, insulation, electrical, plumbing, ventilation and finishes are rebuilt to current code by certified trades, with site visits at critical milestones so you validate the key decisions.

05

Final delivery and warranties

A joint final inspection with you, a complete clean-up, and your warranties activated: 1 year on labour, manufacturer warranties on materials and the RBQ guarantee plan.

Wonderful experience building our patio deck last fall. The job was done quickly with great attention to detail. Solid construction. And when I wanted a change to add a second staircase, no problem at all. Cristian listened and incorporated the new design I asked for. Job well done, I highly recommend Groupe KASA.
